As a Registered Psychologist in Alberta, I provide individual and couples therapy to work with clients to find solutions to problems that have proven challenging to resolve on their own. There are a number of therapies that can be used, however I tend to gravitate towards a trauma focused approach utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which have both been shown to be highly effective treatments.  I do incorporate the clients individual needs into the therapy as well as mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and solution focused strategies.  At the end of the day, the most important part of the therapy process is the therapeutic relationship and it is essential that the client feels supported and understood in therapy. I view therapy as a puzzle, you have all the pieces my role is to help you put them together so they make sense, after all you are the expert on your life!
